Mouille Point at a glance
An affluent suburb of Cape Town, situated between the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront and Granger Bay to the east, Green Point to the south and the Atlantic Ocean to the north and west.
The now eclectic mix of deli, hair salons, spa and boutiques gives Mouille Point a flavour all its own and the added attractions of the golf course, the sea side promenade and the sports and sailing clubs based on the nearby Common have made Mouille Point quite a sought after address in the modern Cape Town.
Mouille Point is only minutes away from the V&A Waterfront and the centre of Cape Town with its vibrant Long Street, trendy Kloof Street and the many museums, galleries and nooks and crannies. The suburb hugs the coastline and is dominated by high-end apartment blocks.
It is a very small suburb, having only two major roads (Beach Road and Bay Road), it is home to the Mouille Point promenade, a paved promenade on the coast that is used daily by thousands of Capetonians. Behind it lies the Green Point Common, where numerous playing fields and a golf course are situated. The new Green Point Urban Park & Biodiversity Garden is just behind Mouille Point and has an entrance on Bay Road.
Mouille Point Beach is also known as Granger Bay beach from where you can enjoy breath-taking kayak experiences and see joggers, walkers, dog walkers and roller-bladers whizzing by on the beach side pavement.
Delight in the cafés, eateries and coffee shops along the beachfront and sidewalks, such as Newport Deli with its crazy energy of a deli in New York. Café Neo located opposite the famous Lighthouse is a European-style coffee and fresh food bar. Enjoy succulent steaks and The Butchers Grill and Hussar Grill, breakfasts at Lilys, tapas at Sotanos and various other spots.

The Mouille Point Lighthouse is large, square, friendly and candy striped in broad nautical red and white stripes. The lighthouse once warned ships of the Cape rocky coastline with only two oil lanterns but now burns a warning light with a bright 850 000 candlepower visible for 25 nautical miles to sea. Home to the haunting foghorn of misty moments this is the oldest operational lighthouse of its kind in South Africa.
The Metropolitan Golf Course is a coastal course of the highest standards and is set, quite literally, in the heart of the Cape Metropolis. The club has superb facilities including a stunning clubhouse, bar that overlooks the signature 18th and a fully equipped Pro Shop.
